Healing Prayer

Umns10_511_1 Do you believe that prayer can heal the sick? Would you want your physician to pray for you? To pray with you? Or to encourage you to pray as part of your medical care? You can express your opinion by participating in this online survey at www.prayerinmedicine.com. It's short - I just took it, and it takes only a few minutes.  Studies have suggested a link between faith and physical health. But finding a way to put "harness" that power is another matter. The survey's investigator, a graduate student in medical communications, aims to find out what kind of "spiritual help" patients might welcome.

John of the Dead

What does it say that intercessory prayer seems to make someone more likely to suffer complications after surgery?

I'm genuinely curious about that. Is it our own worry working against us? "Oh, no, I'm so sick that lots of people are praying for me. I must be really bad off." What's going on there?
