Pastor Barbie

Pulpit For the pastor who has everything .... now, there's Pastor Barbie.  In honor of her first anniversary as pastor of Kyle (Texas) United Methodist Church, Barbara Aziz was honored with her very own "Pastor Barbie." The doll was the brainchild of the church's "OMG3" Sunday school class. Several members customized a Barbie doll with a custom-made robe, glasses, a pulpit and a "baptism kit" complete with baby.  So, yes, Pastor Barbie is equipped - if not officially ordained - to baptize babies. Or, as church member Sean Claes puts it: "Barbie can do ANYTHING."     Barbara and Barbie

Jim

Perhaps being a "Barbie" pastor will attract some young girls. It would be good if the pastor talked about Jesus and how He came, suffered, was killed, was buried, and defeated the old enemy "death" so that those young girls can be reconciled back to the Father. Here's the catch, though. Those young girls have to accept and believe the above senario on faith. Do you suppose a "Barbie" pastor can do that? Blood sacrifice is difficult to visit about!!!!!!

Sean Claes

Thank you for posting this. It was a really fun way to commemorate Pastor Barbara's 1 year with our church. Jim... there's a big difference between a "Barbie Pastor" if you're using the term as a negative stereotype and "Pastor Barbie." Why can't Barbie be a pastor?
